Frères School celebrated the beginning of Lent by commemorating Ash Wednesday, a day that symbolizes repentance through the placing of ashes on the head as a sign of returning to God. On this occasion, two Masses were celebrated: the first for the Secondary Section and the second for the Elementary Section. Some students also attended the parish Mass.
The Mass was presided over by Bishop Hilario, who emphasized in his homily the meaning of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, and how to live them during the Lenten season. During the celebration, the sign of the cross was traced with ashes on the students’ foreheads, as a symbol of repentance and turning back to God.
Lent is a time to return to God and grow closer to Him through prayer and acts of love and charity.
On this occasion, the school extends its best wishes to everyone for a blessed Lent.
